API
API is an
Application
Programming
Interface (API). An API includes a vast set of functions, procedures, methods or classes that an operating system or a library provides to the interface developer.
For example, in the car industry the vehicle's computer may provide an API. Functions within this API may include providing the amount of fuel currently in the tank, how fast the car is travelling, whether the car has sufficient oil and whether the driver's seat-belt is not being used.
